If In Doubt... GO HOME!!

It was Tuesday night and Nev had organized a meeting with a girl (the same one that awarded him with a second place trophy in image 5). They would go to Wicksteed and do what they had failed to do a few nights before. Plus they would get chips on the way back. Nev's treat as she was helping him out. Just a couple of mates, having a chat, to help each other get over certain hurdles.

Straight from work Nev got on a bus to the next town, went shopping for drinks and food and wondered about to kill some time. She was getting her hair done, and was meant to meet him around 7pm. Well there was no call at 7pm so he went to his mums house where he sent a message and watched TV whilst he waited for a response. He already felt stood up so he kept his situation secret from his family to save possible further humiliation. He turned down his mums offer for food, as he wasn't staying long. Well he got a reply eventually. 'Just got home and I'm having some food.' Its 8.30 by now by the way. Does Nev feel good? No. Is he still smiling to cover up a story? Yes. At 9pm they finally met up near the bus stop. She had decided that it was too late and cold to go Wicksteed, so that was off. Instead they could meet her mates who were conveniently already organized to meet her at the pub. Time paused for a second. Nev's demon made himself present to him as a good guy whom only acts up to protect him. It listed a few things that he should take into consideration: Nev was only ever going to be 2nd place with her. He had already been stood up that night. He had brought loads of snacks but he hadn't eaten. He had a heavily loaded backpack on. He was secretly annoyed at her and if he said 'no' here, he could get on the last bus and get home cheaply. Time came back to normal and there was only Nev and the girl there. Nev said 'err... yeah... whatever'.

His demon was not happy, and from that point onwards, neither was he. Nev hid it well, under a smile, but he was stabbing himself deep inside, and it hurt. That night he spent £50, which he didn't really have. He waited 2 hours for a taxi home at 2am and didn't manage to get anything off his chest. There are two words that he could use to sum up that night. They were BULL and SHIT. He only had himself to blame, and he'll never forgive himself.
