Style Development
I've gathered together a small selection of images that display the last few developments in my artwork style. It shows images from when i was attempting to mimic other artists and it also shows the early stages of what I call the Neverland Style.
What's Going On Here
It took me many years to develop a style that i thought worthy enough to call my own. I learned through a process of forging and linking. I started on games characters from the computer games boxes; like Super Mario, sonic and the characters from Streetfighter 2 turbo on the sness. I practiced these characters until i was comfortable enough to reproduce them in new positions and doing other things. Later on i moved into characters like those from Blind Skateboards, Timesplitters and GTA. I just found artworks that I liked and forged images. Later I'd try the characters again in new positions or doing different things.
The latest artwork i found myself interested in was the Gorillaz artwork from Jamie Hewlett. On the right you'll see the images that followed the forging process. So this is when i started to use Jamies Style but with my ow characters. Then When i was really comfortable with it i began to introduce other elemenst that i liked from other styles that i had worked on until i got to a look that was easy to the eye and fun to do.
